Four on the Floor Projects is a collaborative affair between visual artists and musicians that takes the form of art exhibitions hosted on a drum kit used during live performances with bands. Artists are invited to join music groups on stage, however due to the nature of shows (bands often share a drum kit), the artists are never really sure just how many groups they have joined, and many musicians aren’t necessarily aware that the artists have joined them. Participants have included Chrystal Fisher, Sean Maxey, Molly Matusicky, Emiliano Sepulveda, Dwight Koss, Mairin Deery, Rebecca LaMarre, Melissa Cartwright, Nicholas Matranga, Avery Nabata, Monique Levesque and too many bands to count. Currently the artwork from previous exhibitions can be viewed, installed as a frieze, at Artbank in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada, where they have been loaned from Whose Museum.
